2D Animation and its uphill journey

2D animation is considered the most basic part of animation. 3D and 4D animation has taken center stage and is thriving exceedingly well with its fans. 2D animation, however, is considered among the masses to be a slowly dying format. This may not be entirely true.
Remember the countless animated movies like Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood and The Fox and the Hound? These were 2D animated. For aspiring animators, 2D animation is the base foundation. This is, however, not something that cannot be learned on the side. It’s not just for those who wish to make a career in it and yet it is for those who want to learn 2D Animation online.

Apart from these, there are online courses for 2D Animation. Nowadays, you get a plethora of learning options out there like a playlist on repeat. You get to browse through them and select your preference.
This even depends on your method of learning. Are you a logical learner, a solitude one or a visual learner? What do all these types of learning methods include? We all have different methods of processing information, just like the ones mentioned above. Some of us like to learn while fidgeting with an object. Some of us prefer sitting in a noisy room and can better study than when in a quiet room. Yet again, some prefer learning through visual images and listening to the words of a tutor. That’s how new learning options are developed. Also, technology plays a huge role that includes software like gamification, augmented reality, virtual reality, and so on.
Are 3D and 4D animation more lucrative as a career?
There is great scope in advanced animations but this doesn’t mean you leave out the basics of 2D animation. When you know how animation began through its bi-dimensional format, you also develop the understanding of creating newer ways of animation. Think of it in this way, 3D and 4D came after 2D was exhaustively used.
4D Animation is catching on like wildfire. It’s safe to say that there’s more scope in this field. However, as we said, when you know all the types of animation, it provides you with the opportunity of earning more. You can earn more and your skills will be in demand, so you can demand more in terms of your payment packages.
But there are different learning options out there and that’s a good thing because this means you have access to gaining more knowledge. And more knowledge means you have access to gaining more skills. More skills mean you have the chance of being a great asset to an organization. This is how you progress. It takes time but it’s only uphill from here just like 2D reaches 3D and then 4D animation. Remember that 5D animation has already begun and is used in gaming cinemas, for example at amusement parks.
What an amazing world when it comes to animation, the sky is the limit to your imagination. To all the animators out there, make it happen, make it big! Success to you.
